Waiting

The daffodils are trying hard to grow, the forsythia branches I brought inside bloomed thanks to the furnace. Spring's elusive here in the northeast and my walk to look for signs of new life found only lovely moss, tender baby shoots to young to pick, buds swelling on the fruit trees.

So tonight it's grasses, dried hydrangea, seed pods left behind in the garden. They're pretty too. I'll wait.
